Information about CAYENNE Guinea is on the Atlantic Coast, bordering Liberia and Sierra Leone Ethnic diversity, tropical ambience, gorgeous streetscapes and Creole cuisine - Cayenne is one of South America's most charming cities. Though it lacks the soaring grandeur of Buenos Aires, its French Colonial architecture gives it a charm reminiscent of New Orleans' French Quarter. On Atlantic Coast Generally flat coastal plain, hilly to mountainous interior. Generally hot and humid; monsoonal-type rainy season (June to November) with southwesterly winds; dry season (December to May) Guinea is divided into four quite distinct natural regions which are the Coastal region, the Middle region, the Upper region and the forest region. Its natural heritage offers the tourist landscapes with imperceptible contrasts, rich animal life dense, vegetation and vast artistic and cultural diversity. Guinea is a mosaic of 29 ethnic groups quite different one another and with a great and rich cultural diversity. There are divers traditional and ritual celebrations. The craft and music industry is also culturally very rich. Considered to be the cradle of African rhythm and music, Guinea attracts every year many tourists coming from the various ethnic musical realms of Europe and North America. The main sites are : the forest and the sacred pound of Koumana and Baro in Upper Guinea The fort of Galliénni and the Sossobala which is the sacred African xylophone of Soumaoro Kanté located at Niagassola There is a large population of chimpanzees, warthogs, elephants, small game, etc.… The country has high ornithological potential since numerous migrating species of birds pass through and stay on the coasts of Guinea.
